Mr. Cornelius “Kees” Koop of Delhi passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family at his side on Friday, October 18, 2024 in his 68th year. Kees built a thriving greenhouse business where he specialized in growing Asiatic lilies and delphiniums for wholesale distribution. His greatest professional accomplishment was founding and nurturing this business, which reflected his deep love for his craft and his remarkable expertise in floriculture. Kees was not only dedicated to his work but also to mentoring others, often sharing advice and consulting with fellow growers. Known for his strong personality, Kees was a man of many opinions, often passionate and stubborn in his beliefs. Yet, his intelligence and humor shone through in every conversation. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication to his family and profession, and an unwavering love for the life he built. His impact as a knowledgeable grower and a trusted advisor will be long remembered by those whose lives he touched. Beloved husband of Hilda (Van Wingerden) Koop. Loving father of Diana Koop (Chad), Bianca Koop, Angela Koop (Stijn) and Sjaak Koop. Cherished grandfather of Harvey, Vincent and Thijs. Dearest brother of nine siblings: Jan, Corien, Rinus and Loraine, Maya, Therese and Cok, Sjef and Jeannet, Lucia and Wilfried (†), Frank and Jenny, Jacinta. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws in Canada, Netherlands, England & Italy. Predeceased by his parents: Jan (†) and Rie Koop-Bitter (†).
