Mrs. Joanne Deconinck of Delhi, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, June 24, 2024 in her 71st year. Joanne selflessly and humbly gave of herself to everyone who was blessed to know her. She was an avid gardener, doting grandma, active volunteer and community member including a significant involvement in the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Catholic Women's League, Delhi, as a member and past president. Former Johanna Wilhelmina Haegens. Beloved wife of Gary Deconinck. Loving mother of Kathy Hickman, Amy Lavigne (Bill), Connie Pennant (Late Danovan 2008), Perry Deconinck (Kimmi) and James Deconinck (Kelli). Cherished grandmother of: Ethan, Colin, Will, Victoria, Brayden, Maya, Edwin, Angelina, Lucien, Oliver and Miles. Treasured daughter of Helen (Van Dyk) Haegens and the Late Anthony Haegens (1982). Dearest sister of Tony Haegens (Debbie); Willy Haegens (Mary); Frank Haegens (Rosemarie); Phil Haegens (Colleen) and Mike Haegens (Lorrie). Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Prayers said at 2:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Private Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Memorial Church Fund, the Delhi Community Health Centre or the Haldimand & Norfolk Women's Services will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
