Mrs.  Laura  Vandepoele of Delhi passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in her 94th year. Laura worked as the parish secretary at St. John Brebeuf & Companions Roman Catholic Church, for many years. Laura loved spending time at the trailer with family and friends. In retirement, Laura and Andy enjoyed travelling to see the Canadian landscape. Laura enjoyed knitting and cooking for her family and friends. Former Laura Maeckelbergh, daughter of Elisa (Hendryckx, 1995) and Alec (1979) Maeckelbergh. Beloved wife of the Late Andre Vandepoele (2018) for 68 years. Loving mother of Richard (1951-1971), Andrea McMillan (Jack), Laurie (John Tatarka), Michael (Margaret Warden), Nadine and John. Cherished grandmother of Sarah, Jacklynn, Carl Brian, Ashley, Elise, Zachery, Alexander, Lierka and 17 great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by her two brothers, Florent (1937) and George (2022) and by two sisters, Bernice (2022) and Georgette (1978). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Delhi Community Health Centre or the War Amps of Canada will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
