In Loving Memory
With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of MaryAnn (Marie) De Block, formerly of Delhi, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Friday, December 8, 2023 in her 93rd year. MaryAnn graduated as a nurse and started her career at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital. She completed her career as the School Nurse at Delhi District Secondary School, caring for students for 10 years. MaryAnn was an active Past Member of the Geneology Society of Norfolk and The Multicultural Heritage Society of Norfolk. She was an enthusiastic Member of the Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish and an honoured member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 70 years. MaryAnn was a long time Toronto Maple Leaf and Blue Jay fan. She loved to cook, tend to her flower gardens and travel but mostly she loved to spend time with her family. Former Marie Theresa Simpson. Beloved wife of Tony De Block for over 63 years. Devoted mother of Catherine Custodio (Carlos). Proud grandmother of three very loved grandchildren: Jesse, Wesley and Mikayla. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Agnes De Block, her nieces and her nephews. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with CWL Rosary at 3:45 and Parish Prayers at 7:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Private Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Church Memorial Fund or Campfire Circle (Rainbow Lake) will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
