Obituary of Roger Geysens
In Loving Memory
Mr. Roger Geysens, age 79 passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 10, 2023. Roger was born in Hooglede, Belgium on June 17, 1944 and came to Canada when he was 8 years old. He was raised in Norfolk County and spent many years as a tobacco farmer and ended his career with Agricorp as an insurance adjuster. Roger was a community supporter and spent many years in service giving back to his community through his dedicated efforts with Haldimand Norfolk Separate School Board, Courtland Lion’s Club, Delhi Minor Hockey, Norfolk County Council and the Long Point Region Conservation Authority. Roger was gifted with a generous nature, a loving spirit, the ability to fix anything and a knack for woodworking. His projects graced both his farm and the homes of friends and family. Roger is survived by his wife of 58 years Anita (Goudswilders), daughters Cyndy, Michele and Tricia and son Roger (Danielle) and by his many grandchildren, Ty (Victoria), Tessa and Dakota Hamilton, Matthew and Abbey Defrain, Brianna, Brooklynn (Charles), Candice and Courtney Wright, Natalie and Owen Geysens, Cora, Andree and Justine Carruthers. He is also survived by his sister Yvonne Verhaeghe, brother Paul (Jeanette) Geysens and sister-in-law Maria Geysens (Gaston). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Maurice and Irma (Ankaert) and brother Gaston. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, 110 Adams Avenue, Delhi at 10:00 a.m. with a Private Interment at Delhi Cemetery. In his Memory, Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society Haldimand Norfolk, Home Supports Program. Forever Loved and Forever Remembered, the spirit of Roger, Dad, Paapa will live on in the hearts and memories of all those who knew and loved him.
