Obituary of Eugen Bauer
In Loving Memory
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden, unexpected passing of Mr. Eugen Bauer of Courtland. He passed away on Monday, October 9th, 2023 in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Viorica Bauer (Molnar) for over 51 years. Loving father of Erno Bauer (Rosmarie) and Edina Bauer-Pusztahegyi (Gabor). Cherished grandfather of Brandon & Savanah Bauer, and Markus, Tristan & Samson Pusztahegyi. Dearest brother of Lajos Bauer (Katalin), Gyula Bauer (Maria), Iren Rakoczi (Late Jozsef), Margit Sopronyi (Late Elemer) and Magdalena Revai (Geza) and brother in law of Katalin Bauer. Predeceased by his brother, Ferenc, and by his sister, Erzsebet Nezezon (Late Andras). Also survived by several nieces, nephews and many extended relatives and close friends in Canada, US, Romania and Germany. Eugen was born in a small town of Turterebes, Romania. He went to public school and then studied further to become a book keeper. In 1972 he married the love of his life, Violet. They continued their life and welcomed two children, Erno and Edina. On July 31st, 1986 he came to Canada on a visitor’s visa and quickly realized the opportunity to better the life of his family in Canada. He began the immigration process and his family was reunited two and a half years later. Eugene worked in construction and together with his family built a beautiful life. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, swimming and spending his winters in Florida. He loved his family and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. Eugen’s family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. Eugen’s family will receive family and friends at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by A Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Andy Alway officiating. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Woodstock General Hospital Foundation.
