Obituary of Margaret Pleli
In Loving Memory
Mrs. Margaret Pleli formerly of Delhi, passed away at the Macassa Lodge, Hamilton on Sunday, August 20, 2023 in her 95th year. Member of the Delhi United Church and Faithful Member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Starting with the Vittoria Chapter No. 152, Order of the Eastern Star on April 15, 1958 and was made a Life Member of Vittoria Chapter. During her 65-year membership in the Order she held membership in Delhi Chapter No. 226 O.E.S. and when Vittoria and Delhi Chapters closed she joined Mercer Chapter No. 156, Simcoe. An active and dedicated member of the Order, Margaret served as Worthy Matron on several occasions, Secretary and Star point offices. She served as District Deputy Grand Matron, District 18 in 1980 in the "Goodwill Year". She was appointed to the Office of Grand Martha during the "Breath of Spring" Year in 1983-1984. In 2016, she was appointed to the office of Grand Representative of Saskatchewan in Ontario and served in the position for 2 years. Her love of the Order and her approach with new members of the Order encouraged many of them to go on and serve in several capacities. Margaret was a renowned Champion Bowler at the German Hall. An only child of her Parents: Karl (2000) & Helen (Fleming) Deisenroth (1998); former Margaret Lydia Helen Deisenroth. Beloved wife of the late Tony Pleli (2009). Loving mother of Carl Pleli (Susan), Anthony Pleli (Mariola), Elizabeth Woods (late Larry, 2016) and Robert Pleli. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren: Reesa (Sean), Trisha (Cory), Erica (Marty), Julie (Scott), Joe, Andrew (Alexandra), Geoffrey (Jordan), Ryan (Amber), Matthew (Karlie), Dylan (Tina) and great-grandmother of 19 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. followed by an Order of Eastern Star Service with Funeral Service to be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the Campfire Circle (Camp Trillium) or the Canadian Diabetes Association will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
