Mr. Achiel “Archie” Spietaels, of Ingersoll passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday, June 29, 2023 in his 77th year. Archie was a long time employee of Mastico/Reiter/Autoneum Automotive in Tillsonburg.  He enjoyed his time fishing, hunting and hanging out with his friends. Once retired, Archie could be found in the kitchen cooking and baking up new and old recipes, especially his well loved “pumpkin pie”.  Archie will always be remembered for his fantastic sense of humour and will be dearly missed by all his family as well as his Marina Shores friends.  Archie is reunited with his longtime friend/soul mate Linda Anstee and their pet dog Tinkerbell. Beloved father to Jennifer Ward (Ron), Christa Spietaels (Ron Bankes), and Mandy Taylor (Craig), and step-father of Michelle Anstee (Kent), Richard Anstee (Lili), Melissa Scott (Matt) and Jennifer Higgins (Craig). Loving grandfather of Madison (Brandon), Tessa, Leiah, Tristan, Aidan, Codi, Victoria, Leo and Carma (Kevin). Cherished brother of Maurice Spietaels, Josie Gilbert and brother-in-law of Wendy Spietaels. Archie leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Julienne (VanDeweghe) Spietaels, and by his brothers, George Spietaels (Bessie) and Robert Spietaels. A Celebration of Archie’s life will take place the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 125, Delhi on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made to Sakura House, Woodstock or the Heart & Stroke Foundation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) and will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
