Obituary of Frank Veres
In Loving Memory
Mr. Frank Veres of Delhi passed away at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Friday, June 9. Frank was born in and spent his early years in Welland, Ontario. His family relocated to the Delhi area when he was 3 to begin life on a tobacco farm. As an adult, Frank was a well-known businessman, being employed by 3 local lumberyards. Frank was always community minded and was actively served many groups - he was most proud to have served as a volunteer Delhi fireman for almost 40 years. Frank was a charter member of the Delhi Lions Club. He also spent many hours in the area's arenas and ballparks, either watching his sons or serving Delhi Minor Hockey and Baseball or the Delhi Junior Flames. In his spare time Frank could often be found with a fishing pole or pool cue in his hands (the trout are safer now in Big Creek). An enthusiastic animal lover, Frank could often be seen driving around town in his pickup, with one of his beloved schnauzers riding shotgun. Beloved husband of the Late Margaret Anne (Johnston) Veres (2023). Loving father of Frank Jr. (Jan) and Randy (Cynthia). Cherished grandfather of Lindsay (Ryan), Tyler (Rita), Katie and Michael and great-grandfather of James, Elise and Layla. Dearest brother of Irene Kramer (Peter) and in-laws, Isabelle Brooks and Gerry Gignac. Also survived by special nieces and nephews: Peter (Kim), Sally (Mike) and Jennifer (Guy) and their families. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service held in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment in Delhi Cemetery.
