Mrs. Barbara Van Dyk of Simcoe passed away suddenly, peacefully, and surrounded by her loving family at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 in her 73rd year. Barbara had a heart of gold. Her genuine, warm, kind-hearted nature was felt by each person that had the pleasure of meeting her. She loved her family fiercely and the pride that she had for her children and grandchildren will continue to live on in each of them. Beloved wife of William Van Dyk for 52 years. Loving mother of Laurie (Jeff) Ball, Peter (Jane) Van Dyk, Paul (Christa) Van Dyk and Lisa (Ryan) VandenBussche. Cherished grandmother of Maddilyn, Kaitlyn, Mya, Emma, Raya, Logan, Cy, Spencer and Miles. Dearest sister of Pauline (Len) Lasko and Michael (Sharon) Barnucz. Predeceased by her father Paul Gomori Jr (1954), her mother Isabel Nagy Barnucz (1970), and her adoptive father Michael Barnucz (1975). Barbara was also a loving aunt & godmother, a genuine friend and a caring sister in-law. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Monday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Church, Delhi on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the SickKids Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
