Obituary of Mary Murphy
Forever in Our Hearts
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Murphy – van den Kerkhof, born on November 7, 1932 in South Norwich Township, passed away at Caressant Care, Courtland, on Monday May 15, 2023 in her 91st year. Mary was a Proud Member of the Sisters of St. Joseph’s in London and the Delhi CWL. She earned a BSc in Nursing and a Masters in Hospital Administration which enabled her to work across Canada including London, Toronto, Hamilton, Edmonton and Vancouver. Mary enjoyed knitting and reading and was a whiz at puzzles. She also treasured her time socializing with friends and family. Beloved wife of the Late Adrian van den Kerkhof (1994). Dearest sister of J. Patrick Murphy (Marlene, 2021) and Rev. Fr. Francis “Frank” Murphy. Mary will also be missed by sister-in-law Mickey Murphy, nieces Mary Lynn, Jo-Ann, Carrie, Patty and Kelly, nephew Michael and step daughters Carol, Renee, Brenda and Isabel. Predeceased by her brothers, Anthony (Tony) Murphy (2011) and Joseph (Joe) Murphy (1970) and by her parents Kathleen (Casey) and Almonte Murphy. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, 806 Victoria St, London, ON N5Y 4E1.
