Mr. Julien Matthys, formerly of Delhi, passed away peacefully at Hardy Terrace Long Term Care, Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, February 18, 2023 in his 98th year. In 1955 Julien married the love of his life Denise and they came to Canada the same year. They eventually bought a tobacco farm in the Little Lake area, where they raised a family and farmed for many years. The farm was where Julien loved to be. Beloved husband of Denise (DeWulf) Matthys. Loving father of James (Cathy) and Mike (Tina). Cherished grandfather of Megan (Tanner), Stephanie (Chadd), Michael and Chelsey and great grandfather of Austin and Peter. Julien was part of a family of 13 siblings both in Canada and Belgium. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held with Interment in Delhi Cemetery.
