Obituary of Patricia Crawshaw
In Loving Memory
Mrs. Patricia Crawshaw of Delhi, passed away at her home on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 in her 89th year. Pat was born in England, lived in Australia, Quebec, Switzerland and loved spending time in California . She documented her travels and self published them as gifts to family. A superior seamstress, she made her own wedding gown, her daughter Fiona’s and custom clothing. She was a remarkable quilter of both bed quilts and art portrait quilts and enjoyed being a member of both quilting guilds and the Fibre Arts Group. Pat was also was a member of the St. Alban’s Anglican Church and the Optimist Club. Her biggest passion was creating and supporting Fernlea IVIX Non-profit Bookstore. Endless book buying forays, sorting and shelving books, arranging for profits to get to Haiti and 30 years of bookkeeping. Pat was an avid scholar, winning the Gold Medal at University of Western Ontario for highest grades of all graduates. She later completed an MA in Mississippi where she quickly learned to ask for “hot tea”, a staple of her life, or she would get sweet iced tea. Her life’s work was helping children learn and meet their potential. This included her own three children, several foster children and scores of students at the Our Lady of LaSalette School. Beloved wife of Bernard Crawshaw. Loving mother of Jonathan Crawshaw (Chrysta Mayhew); Fiona Kay and Simon Crawshaw. Cherished grandmother of four grandchildren: Alexandra, Declan, Meaghan & Leah. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and family in England . She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elsa Butcher and son-in-law Paul Kay. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME,
