Obituary of David McConnell

In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of David McConnell, a husband, father, grandfather and brother at the age of 78, at the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital, on Saturday, January 22, 2022.  Beloved husband of Darlene (Lefevre) Handsaeme for 23 years. Loving father of Davey McConnell (Ven), Darren McConnell (Lisa) and Tennille McConnell. Cherished grandfather of Darien, Cherish, Diva & Divine. Dearest brother of Trevor Coates (Barb), Gary McConnell (Grace), Pam Nobes (Alan), Spring Kaye and Cindy Lubek. He will also be lovingly remembered by Darlene’s children, Jeff Handsaeme (Jenny) and Shelley Boyd (Rick), and by Shelley & Rick’s children, Britny Boyd (Anthony), Brianna Boyd (Josh) and Brook Boyd (Colton). Predeceased by his mother, Rita Coates and his father, Gordon McConnell, his stepfather, Johnny Coates, and by his sister, Penny Anne Coates. He will be sadly missed by many family and friends and by his dog, Missy and cat, Fluffy. We’d like to thank Dr Abdullah and all the nurses of the Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital for their support and kindness at this difficult time. In consideration of the continuing health and safety of our friends & family, a Special Celebration of Life for Friends & Family will take place at a later date.
