Obituary of Muriel Nickerson

In Loving Memory

Muriel Lorraine Nickerson (nee: Preston) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of September 30, 2021, at the Delhi Long Term Care Centre, in her 88th year. Muriel was predeceased by her husband, Alvin, in 1990. The last sibling of the Preston family, Muriel will be missed by her four children (Cheryl, Melanie, Darren & Dawn) and their spouses, 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Her legacy was her faith in Jesus Christ; Mom loved the Lord and trusted in Him to get her from earth to heaven in His time. While her battle with dementia was often trying, she remained strong in believing the truth of the Bible that “Absent from the body is present with the Lord!” And now, she’s seen Him, face to face, in all His glory! The family will receive friends at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. followed by A Funeral Service in the Chapel at 10:00 a.m. (MAX: 85 Attendees) Please RSVP & Register at www.mfh.care or call (519) 582-1290 for the Funeral Service. (Facial Coverings and Social Distancing Required). Interment in Glendale Cemetery , Etobicoke. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to Bethesda Baptist Church, Delhi or to the Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated by the family. The family extends their gratitude to the staff of the Delhi Long Term Care Centre for their compassionate care of Mom over the past 10½ years. Most of all, we give thanks to God for blessing us with a Mom who, though imperfect, sought to show each of us the way to Him! She will be missed!
