In Loving Memory
Mr. Stefan “Steve” Gass of Delhi, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Woodstock Hospital on Friday, July 9, 2021 in his 95th year. Steve loved any time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visits with them often involved tickling, building blocks, making pancakes and stealing sweets from Oma’s kitchen. He always loved family gatherings. Whether it was for holidays, anniversaries or just an impromptu meal. Steve & Ella, cherished any memories made over a good meal with family. Steve & Ella loved being Members of the Delhi German Home Community. This was a place where they could share and celebrate many milestones with friends & family. A favourite event for Steve was to attend the annual Christmas and Easter dances with his family, where he would enjoy watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren dance the night away! Steve was a talented and hardworking carpenter who took pride in all his projects. He built several homes over the decades including their current home. In his retirement, Steve worked hard in his workshop and made lots of furniture for many family members including his children and grandchildren. Even with a busy family, one of his greatest passions was travel. Whether it was visiting family in Europe, enjoying the sun in the Mediterranean and Caribbean, driving grandchildren to Disney World or riding a camel in front of the pyramids in Egypt, Steve always looked forward to his next adventure. The most important value to Steve was that his children and grandchildren would have a great education. He never had this opportunity but made sure that his children & grandchildren attended school and were successful. Beloved husband of Ella (Uldrian) Gass. Loving father of Rosemarie Gass and Elsie Massecar (Phil). Cherished grandpa of Jason Barnucz (Heather), Crystal Rieck (Brian), Amanda Dooney (Hayden), Justin Massecar (Cassandra) & Kaitlyn Massecar (Eric) and devoted great-grandfather and loving Opa to Trevor, Stefanie, Joshua, Matthew, Jon Jon, Conor, Kyla, Wyatt, Beckett & Miller.
