Obituary of Margaret Mandryk
In Loving Memory
Our angel has earned her wings. Mom (Peggy), formerly of Silver Hill, passed away peacefully at the Millennium Trail Manor, Niagara Falls with her daughter by her side and her family close by on Monday January 4, 2021 in her 95th year. Mom/Mimi will be sadly missed by her loving family. Former Margaret Rose Rittman, beloved wife of the late Stanley Mandryk (1998). Loving mother of Gary Mandryk (Mary) and Sharon Richard. Cherished grandmother of Brittney (Daniel), Jonathan (Shannon), Justin (Kim), Jasmine (Jay) and great-grandmother to 'her little people’; Skylar, Julia, Tannar, Max, Jimmy, Noah, Bennett and Baby Q on the way. Dearest sister of Anne Hilliard (Chuck) and sister-in-law Helen Colombus (Gordon). Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John & Margaret (Binder) Rittman, and by her sister Eva VanElslander (Vic). She was the heart and soul of our lives. Her life mission was loving us, which she showed through everything she did for her family, such as working hard on the family tobacco farm. After retiring, when at home, if she wasn’t in her gardens, you could find her in the kitchen cooking or baking, listening to music on her radio and dancing, or reading and doing word puzzles. Mom was also known to take road trips to watch recitals, sports games, music events, school activities or to partake in any family gatherings; she didn’t miss a thing! Her passion of playing cards and board games never ended, especially with all her ‘little people’. Peggy had a wonderful sense of humour and was always ready with a witty remark (just ask the staff at the Manor, they all enjoyed her personality).
Mom’s favourite saying was “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” - Sweet dreams Mom/Mimi, you will be in our hearts forever. Love, your family xo
