Mr. Manuel Da Silva of Arthur, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, August 13, 2020 in his 74th year. Manuel had a heart of gold, often putting others ahead of himself. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a great role model, especially to his family, showing that with hard work and perseverance, great things could be accomplished. He took great pride in his farm, located in Arthur, ON, where he loved to watch his crops grow and looked forward to harvest time. Beloved husband of the Late Rita Maria Da Silva. Loving brother of Rosa and Antonio Pires of Terceira, Acores, Rita Evangelho of Ilderton, Gabriela and John Ventura of Listowel, John Da Silva of Listowel, and Lucy and David Diniz of Windham Centre. Caring uncle to Tony and Dina Pires, Rosemary and Jason Pires, Gilbert and Carla Evangelho, Andrea and Andrew Gotfried, John Paul Ventura, Marko Ventura and Michelle Bong, Anthony Scott Da Silva, Jason Diniz, Lindsay and Lukas Rezek, Sarah Diniz and David Diniz Jr. Great Uncle to Tiago, Ana Filipa and Gloria Pires, Natalie and Nicholas Evangelho, Easton and Ryder Gottfried, Gabriella, Emerson, Adrien and Isabella Ventura. Predeceased by his adoring mother, Rita Dutra Da Silva, by his father, Manuel Da Silva, by his brother, Antonio Da Silva and by his brother in law, Mateus Evangelho. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi (MAX: 100 Attendees) on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Our Lady of LaSalette R.C. Cemetery. Donations to The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
