Mr. Walter DeVooght formerly of Tillsonburg and Delhi, passed away at the Caressant Care on Mary Bucke, St. Thomas on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 in his 89th year. Walter was a Member of the Delhi Belgian Club where he loved to Polka, dance and could often be caught singing his favourite song, “Oh Johnny”. He also liked to play darts and was quite the pool shark. Beloved husband of the Late Cecilia (DeGroote) DeVooght (2002). Loving father of Darlene Stackhouse (Michael), Odile Brockman-Lee (David), Betty Robins and Ron DeVooght (Gail). Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Jen), Brent, Jessica (Dave), Kathryn, Stacy, Craig, Emily (Majed), Eric (Emma), Grant and great grandfather of Oliver, Marin, Mackenzie, Zachary, Joey, Clayton, Leah, Adam, Colin and Ryan. Dearest brother of Jeannine, Rita and Roger. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Predeceased by his sister Bernice and by his three brothers; Eric, Frank and Steve. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 for visitation on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. As per Walter’s wishes a Private Family Funeral Service will take place. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the Charity of your choice will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
