Mrs. Maria Dickey of R.R.#2, Tillsonburg passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at V.O.N. Sakura House, Woodstock on Friday, January 4, 2019 in her 67th year. Maria opened her heart and her home to many over the years. She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Maria loved spending time with her grandchildren, travelling with them, and teaching them her love for cooking. Grandma’s home was always the place for watermelon and a swim. Maria had a devoted love for cats and kittens, especially the ones that needed rescuing. She will be remembered by her acts of loving kindness and her generous heart. Former Maria Madalena Silva. Beloved wife of William “Bill” Dickey for over 46 years. Dearest daughter of Jose Silva and the Late Ilda (Brum) Silva (2003). Loving mother of Mason Dickey and Sarah Oxley (Mike). Cherished grandmother of Mason Jr., Matthew and Lauren. Dearest sister-in-law of Linda Dickey. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 for visitation on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Lucio X. Couto officiating. Interment in Delhi Cemetery. Donations to the V.O.N. Sakura House, Woodstock or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (S.P.C.A.) will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
