In Loving Memory

It is with great sadness, the family of Mrs. Lena Schwager, formerly of Delhi, announces her peaceful passing at the Norview Lodge, Simcoe on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the age of 92.  Beloved wife of the Late John Schwager (1981). Loving mother of Theresa Godby (Rob), Jean Mahler (Mike) and daughter-in-law Hilda Schwager (the Late John Jr., 2015). Proud grandmother of James Godby (Kim), Jason Godby (Steph), Christine Seyler (Jim), Jennifer Pasichnyk (Justin), Michelle VanLaeken (Vince), Ken Mahler (Rochelle), and Mandy Chevez (Guillermo). Cherished Oma of 11 great-grandchildren; Russ, Bria, Will, Kate, Ali, Bryn, Carleigh, Myles, Ella, Callum and Dominic. Survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Austria and Germany. Predeceased by her parents, in-laws, two sisters, two step-sisters and two brothers. Lena was a Past Member of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church Catholic Women’s League and Shareholder of the Delhi District German Home. After many years working alongside her husband, John, on their tobacco farm in Vienna, Lena moved to Delhi in 1993. Gardening, Sewing, Cooking and Baking were her favourite pastimes, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Tillsonburg Cemetery. The family would greatly appreciate in lieu of flowers that Memorial Donations be made to the Norview Lodge (Cheques made payable to Norfolk County) or the Sick Kids Foundation.
