Obituary of Robert Vervaecke

In Loving Memory

 

Mr. Robert  Vervaecke of Delhi, passed away at the Delhi Long Term Care Centre, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 in his 93rd year.  Bob came to Canada from Belgium at 17 years of age. He lived with his Aunt and Uncle, and worked with them on the farm. He met the love of his life and they were married June 24, 1961. They farmed tobacco in the Norfolk area where they raised their five children. He was a man with a huge heart. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a devote Catholic, attending mass regularly. He danced at the Summer Gardens, liked playing cards, photography and journaling. He always enjoyed sharing Stories and meeting new people. Beloved husband of the Late Eunice (Cronk) Vervaecke (2012).  Loving father of Cheryl Vervaecke, Jeannine Ball, Arlene Trembley and Diane Vervaecke.  Cherished grandfather of Wyatt Trembley (Megan). Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his son, Robert 'Bobby' Vervaecke Jr. (2023) and by his sister, Jeannine Brilleman (2022) (Late Albert). Friends may call at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, Delhi (519) 582-1290 (www.mfh.care) for visitation on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Delhi on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Augustine Ogundele officiating. Inurnment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Simcoe. Memorial Donations to the Delhi Long Term Care Resident Activity Fund (Cheques made payable to peopleCare) will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
